Karisma Illuzon Makes Successful Debut at KOBA 2026

A New AR and Virtual Studio Platform for Broadcasters

VRi officially unveiled Karisma Illuzon, its next-generation real-time AR and virtual studio platform, at KOBA 2026, Korea’s largest broadcast and media technology exhibition, held at COEX in Seoul from May 12-15.

Built on VRi’s proprietary Karisma Engine, Karisma Illuzon is a broadcast-focused AR and virtual studio solution capable of delivering real-time 4K 60p graphics on a single system. Throughout the four-day exhibition, the system operated continuously for seven hours per day, completing a total of 56 demonstration cycles and 28 cumulative hours of operation.

The demonstration featured 30-minute news and podcast production workflows combining chroma key-based virtual studio environments with real-time AR graphics.

Throughout the exhibition period, no software crashes or memory leak issues were reported, demonstrating the long-duration operational stability of the Karisma Engine.

Demo content included election graphics developed for Korea’s 2026 local elections, 2026 FIFA World Cup coverage, and weather presentation workflows. By handling election, sports, and weather production scenarios on a single system without workflow or equipment changes, Karisma Illuzon demonstrated the flexibility required for real-world broadcast environments.

Visitors and broadcast professionals showed strong interest in the system’s real-time 4K visual quality, integrated AR and virtual studio workflow, and stable long-duration operation.

Following its debut at KOBA 2026, Karisma Illuzon is scheduled for global commercial launch in 2027 as part of VRi’s next-generation broadcast graphic and virtual production portfolio.
