The Selection: Why KarismaCG?
The primary reason for adopting KarismaCG was to enhance real-time workflow efficiency.
- Eliminating Wait Times: Previously, creating motion graphics using Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, and Illustrator required long rendering and export times, during which work had to stop. KarismaCG allows for real-time previews and adjustments, which is invaluable on-site.
- Significant Time Savings: Its intuitive UI for decorations, animations, and particles has improved work efficiency significantly. Last-minute corrections on the day of a live broadcast can be handled immediately, resulting in a nearly 50% reduction in production time.
- Advanced 3D Capabilities: KarismaCG enables the easy creation of 3D CG within a single system, greatly expanding the range of visual expression.
- NDI Support: Wellplayed uses TriCaster as their main switcher and utilizes NDI for telop transmission. This saves physical inputs on the switcher and ensures a stable, trouble-free broadcast.
Future Expectations
Wellplayed has shared several technical insights to further improve KarismaCG for eSports:
- Enhanced Excel Integration: While ODBC functions exist, they currently require multiple clicks to update. A seamless, instant update feature (reflecting Excel changes immediately) is highly desired for real-time stats.
- Camera Tracking for AR: As AR technology becomes more prevalent, future support for camera-linked graphics is expected.
- Improved Motion Blur: Enhancing the quality of motion blur for object edges in real-time rendering.
- Expanded API Accessibility: Currently, the API is limited to C++, which has a high entry barrier. Support for more accessible programming languages would allow more people to develop custom operations.
